MILL YARD STUDIOS - PARTNERSHIPS & LINKS

	We believe that by working in partnership we can achieve more than on our own. We're open to collaboration with other arts groups but also with "non-arts" partners to bring our work to the widest possible audience and to share our skills.
	The Wheel Thing (BIG DRAW 2004) An award-winning event in partnership with WHEELBASE had participants drawing with bikes and mud! David Penn and Pam Williamson received a commendation from Quentin Blake at the National Gallery Awards ceremony in April 2005.
Re-Cycling Installation to celebrate Wheelbase's 10th birthday David Penn & Pam Williamson	The Wheelbase 10th birthday celebrations brought out this mad cyclist on the front of the studios in an installation called Re-Cycling.

	Links to other organisations: The Lichfield Festival Both David Penn and Pam Williamson have solo exhibitions at the Lichfield Festival 8-18 July 2010 Wilf's Café Wilf's sponsored our 2009 Big Draw Event. Visit the lounge area to see the resulting community work. Hawkshead Brewery "Lines in Draught" drew over 100 adult participants who "drew" on huge (and small) beer mats using the natural ingredients of beer. This event won us our second national recognition as runners up in the Drawing Inspiration Awards. David Penn was invited to be the first artist to show work in the excellent space of the brewery's sampling hall (September - November 2006). Staveley Carnival In July 2006 we worked with over 100 adults and children in workshops during the Carnival. Lanternhouse International David's on the board of Lanternhouse International (the exciting reincarnation of Welfare State International), having previously worked with WSI in key roles over a number of years. He's keen to develop partnerships between artists and companies, with a particular interest in training artists and raising aspirations. Mill Yard artists David Penn and Pam Williamson with guest Sally Toms ran a big draw event at Lanternhouse in October 2009. SHINGLERS of Ambleside Lake District National Park's Premier Art Centre (Winsor & Newton); Daler/Rowney main dealer; Cumberland Pencil's dealer of the Year. We are working in partnership with SHINGLERS to promote skilled and imaginative use of high quality artists' materials. Participants on all Mill Yard Studios courses will be offered discount vouchers for use at the shop.
